West Virginia University senior Chelsea Carrier placed third in the heptathlon Friday at the NCAA Outdoor Track Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, earning first-team All-America honors.

Carrier finished with 5,761 points in the seven events, 200 points behind winner Ryann Krais of Kansas State and 96 behind runner-up Liane Weber of Clemson. Carrier won two of the events, the 100-meter hurdles and 200 dash.
