ABOUT 20 years ago, I bought several grandparents books and gave them to my aunts and my mother, and kept one for myself. The books had questions and spaces provided for the answers for the person to write their responses, thereby recording their life history.
My relatives loved their books, as did I. The books did not dwell on genealogy but rather the memorable events of our lives, recording for future readers what the times and living conditions were like. Our answers gave insight into our personalities, attitudes, beliefs, religious and political affiliations, etc.See the full content of this document
