BECKLEY - The executive director of the state Housing Development Fund says West Virginia is weathering the national mortgage crisis well.

Aside from the Eastern Panhandle, Joe Hatfield says foreclosures have not increased in West Virginia like other parts of the country, which have been hit hard by falling housing prices. Hatfield says even the housing fund, which helps low and moderate-income buyers, hasn't seen higher foreclosures either.
