Summary


About 60 percent of West Virginians said they had seen a dentist in the past year, according to federal health statistics.

The numbers are worse for people with low incomes. Among state residents who make less than $15,000 a year, only 35 percent said they had gone to the dentist in the past 12 months, according to statistics from 2002 compiled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
