BEIJING - Chen Zhongwei, a Chinese surgeon credited with pioneering the process of reattaching severed limbs, has died. He was 74.

Chen fell seven floors on Tuesday while trying to enter his Shanghai apartment through a window, the official Xinhua News Agency said.
