HARPERS FERRY - Nearly $1.2 million in improvements are being made this year at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park thanks to federal stimulus money.

Officials say the funds are being used to rehabilitate 12 roofs within the park's lower town area. It also will be used to install intrusion and fire alarms and to replace two heating and air conditioning systems.
