Larry Lee Anderson, 61, of Charleston went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 14, 2011, at Hubbard Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 10, 1949, in Charleston, son of the late Everett Lee Anderson and Delphia Bell Mullins Anderson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Sonny Anderson.Larry was a member of Southeast Church of the Nazarene, where he played the steel guitar with the praise and worship team.As a professional musician, Larry specialized in the steel guitar. He played with a variety of bands, locally, regionally and nationally, including appearances on the Grand Ole Opry and Hee Haw. In 1991 and 1992, Country Plus Magazine recognized Larry as one of the top steel players in the country.He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Ann; daughters, Stacy Brown of Red House, and Lee Ann Anderson, at home; sister, Jerry Smith of Charleston; three brothers, Everett Anderson, Ed Anderson and his wife Danni, both of Charleston, and Mike Anderson of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Jacob Burnette and Harley Holstein.A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, at Harding Funerals and Cremation with Pastor Ollie Parsons officiating.The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.Interment will follow the next day at 11 a.m. in Springhill Cemetery, Charleston.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Larry's memory be made to Southeast Church of the Nazarene, 5102 MacCorkle Avenue, SE, Charleston, WV 25304.Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.hardingfamilygroup.com.Harding Funerals & Cremations, 514 50th Street, SE, Kanawha City, is serving the Anderson family.John E.
