BECKLEY - Delegate Ron Thompson says he is ready to return to the Legislature after a nearly yearlong absence and he plans to take his oath of office this week.

Thompson has been missing from the state Capitol since the 2006 legislative session ended in March. The Raleigh County Democrat told The Register-Herald that a prolonged struggle with bipolar depression was the cause of his prolonged absence from state government.
