More West Virginians have been to Nova Scotia than I realized from the comments I've gotten via e-mail and even during a chance encounter at the grocery store. Everyone loved the experience as much as I did.

Some of you ate wild blueberries, some encountered storms and Charleston gardener Sarah Hoblitzell, lucky enough to visit in early June this year, saw the elusive wild lupines. In an e-mail, she said, "We had the wonderful fortune of seeing the lupines in bloom - they were everywhere (not to rub it in) and were incredibly beautiful. Colors ranged from white to blue to pink ... because of the short growing season later things were in bloom at the same time. We saw the tail end of tulips blooming along with lilacs, poppies, bleeding hearts, Canada lilies and bunchberry to name a few."
